Christmas Letter 2011

Dear Friends and Family,

We hope you have had a wonderful year. Ours has been one of many blessings and we would like to share with you what we are grateful for this year.

Derrick: This has been a great year...so many things to be thankful for. Let me start by saying that I'm very grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. I revere Him, I try to pattern my life after Him and I anchor my faith in Him. Next I'm infinitely grateful for my wife. She's beautiful, an amazing mother, and she still makes my heart flutter when she smiles at me. She does so much to help me remain positive and to see the good in others. I'm so glad for our children as well. They have such wonderful senses of humor. I can already tell that they'll be the kids with "...if they could limit the amount of talking they do..." statements in their report cards. They really make me smile each day and I love them eternally. The gospel really is a wonderful thing and I'm so glad that it has been restored and we can enjoy its fullness. With it we gain knowledge of temples. covenants and promises we make to Heavenly Father and also an Understanding of the power of the priesthood and how it blesses everyone's lives. This has been a great year for work as well. I've recently celebrated my anniversary with my emplyer and it's amazing how bid a difference a good job makes. Heavenly Father has certainly taken care of us in this aspect. And let me just say that I'm so very grateful for babysitter!! What a huge blessing, they keep me sane...literally.

Catherine: I ahave so much to be grateful for it is always hard to put it in words. But first and foremost I am gratedul for my Savior Jesus Christ who through his sacrifice gives me strength each day. I am so grateful for my handsome husband who supports me in all that I do. He really is a wonderful man who is a great example for our children. When he was gone for a week I realized even more how much he helps me and makes me happy. I am grateful for my boys even though we have tough times some days I can always count on their smiles and laughter to make me happy. I am grateful for having a temple close to us and one being built even closer and I am grateful that I have been sealed to my husband and our family can be together forever. I am grateful for the knowledge of the gospel that I have and the good news that Jesus really did die for me. I am grateful for wonderful family members who bring joy and happiness into our lives. I am so grateful for our new home and our wonderful neighborhood. It is so nice to live somewhere that there is a good community feeling and that we feel safe in. I am grateful for the new friends we have made and the dear old friends we have. I am grateful for my calling and the children I get to work with each week. And while this may be a little more temporal than the rest I am most definitely grateful that Jayden is potty trained. Whoo only one diaper to change now.

Jayden: I am grateful for Heavenly Father he makes me happy. I am grateful for story time, music and songs I made up. I am grateful for candy, food, my hippo and the clock. I am grateful for Ms. Kristy and library books. I am grateful that it is dark.

Brennan ( As observed by mom and dad): I am grateful for milk and bananas. I am grateful for stuffed animals to cuddle. I am grateful I have learned some sign language. I am grateful for my brother to play with. I am grateful for music and dancing. I am grateful for cuddlind mom and dad.
