Christmas Letter 2013

Dear Family and Friends,

2013 has been a busy year, we have grown as a family and been blessed with so much and we would like to share with you some of the many blessings we have had this year.

Derrick: So much to be grateful for.  First and foremost my gratitude goes to my Father in Heaven.  He’s been great to us this year.  Next I want to express my gratitude for my Savior, Jesus Christ.  I absolutely love this time of year because there’s such an opportunity for everyone to give special attention and focus to the Lord and remember what’s truly important.  Top of the list would be my beautiful, loving and sexy wife, Catherine.  What she does for our family is amazing.  If I could be half as strong and dedicated as her it would be a miracle.  Our kids have really grown this year.  Jayden’s getting ready to go to elementary school and I can’t believe how quickly that happened.  I’m very grateful that he’s made really good friends and how well he plays with others.  Brennan is a heap of fun, with character to boot.  He’s become a real three-year-old, both literally and figuratively.  His humor is developing and I love watching his personality grow.  Ashlynn has been such a wonderful addition to our family.  She’s quick to smile, loves to dance and absolutely adores her mother.  She’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a daughter.  Outside of family, I’m happy to be done with my schooling…the end…period.  I love learning, and it was a great experience….and I’ve got a really expensive piece of paper to show for it.  All joking aside though, I’m grateful that the Lord has blessed us in such a way that we could pursue continued education.  I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and that we all become a little better than we were yesterday and try really hard to be better tomorrow than we are today.   Look to the Lord and as you draw closer to Him, He’ll draw closer to you.

Catherine: I am so grateful for my handsome husband who supports me in all I do. I grateful that he has a good job, and that he works so hard for us. I am grateful that he was able to finish his MBA this year and that he can use that extra time to spend with us. I am grateful that we were able to have Jayden’s surgery and that now he can sleep better.  Jayden is a wonderful child who never ceases to amaze us. I am grateful that Brennan is potty trained and out of diapers!! He is such a fun boy and is always so loving. I am grateful that I was able to have a healthy and a safe delivery of our baby girl Ashlynn. She is a beautiful light in our home. I am grateful for a wonderful community that pulls together and helps those in need. I am grateful for our loving family and all their support. I am grateful for our friends that show an amazing outpouring of love to us. Most of all I am grateful for my Savior. I am grateful that he was born, lived a glorious life and died for me.

Jayden: I am grateful for Mom and Dad, Ashlynn, Brennan, house, friends, toys, drinks (milk juice and water), my birthday, Christmas, Christmas trees, going to Holly’s house, Jesus and Mary and Joseph, games, and Aunt Kelsey.
