Happy Halloween

Derrick is a Ghostbuster and Jayden and I are ghosts.

Cute little ghostman

Doesn't he look adorable

He's trying to shove that whole fist in his mouth

Another picture mom?

He's too cute
We had a ward Halloween Party yesterday. We didn't end up staying for too long because it was so loud and it was Jayden's bed time. But we had fun dressing up. Derrick was a Ghostbuster and Jayden and I were ghosts. Thanks to his Grandma and Grandpa Jackson for sending the outfit. He got many compliments on how cute he was.

Pigs in the Petting Zoo
Goat in the Petting Zoo

Derrick and Jayden in the Corn Maze
Catherine feeding the goats some corn
Derrick with our very small $4 pumpkin
Jayden with his pumpkin
The pumpkin is almost as big as him
This past weekend we went to the pumpkin patch. It was a fun experience eveb though Jayden slept most of the time. It was almost 80* so it was very warm. There was a petting zoo, a corn maze and a pumpkin patch. It was a little bit expensive though but itwas fun to get out and enjoy the great weather and have some fun as a family.

The New Family Search Website

I just felt I needed to share this. So I have been trying to get started on Family History for a while. I know it is something that will greatly bless my life but I could never get really excited about it. I have made several pedigree charts and have been able to find a lot of information that my other relatives have already gathered. I just really felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. I had the hardest time finding any information about ordinances on the original Family Search website and I would get really discouraged and give up on it for a couple of months. However my father recently told me about the new website for Family Search. It is wonderful.
The website is https://new.familysearch.org . It will ask you for your membership number and your confirmation date which you can get from your ward clerk. But once you sign in. It has your whole pedigree from several different sources and the ordinances that have been done. They have so much inforation it is great. They already had Jayden on the pedigree chart. How cool is that? It is so easy to use and it makes preparing names for the temple a snap. There are all ready several names ready for me to take to the temple. I just need to find a baby sitter and take them down. There is nothing like a user friendly website to get you excited about Family History. I spent a couple of hours yesterday going through the website. So if any of you are struggling with your family history or just want to check out the website I really recommend it.

Fall Colors

Derrick and Jayden man at the top of our hike
The beautiful trees lining the path we were walking on
Derrick and Jayden in front of the trail we hiked
The Poudre Valley River

Beautiful yellow leaves
We loved these red leaves
This was one of our favorite shots with the river in the background
I can't get enough of the red ones

Two weekends ago we had the chance to go up to the Poudre Valley Canyon. It is just about 10 min away from our house. We went on a little hike and enjoyed the fall colors. Jayden slept the whole time but Derrick and I really enjoyed it. You can't help but marvel at the beauty of this world and be greatful for God's wonderful creations.

2 Month Check up

Jayden had his two month check up yesterday. Here are the stats:
Weight: 10lb 10oZ
Length: 22 3/4 in

The doctor said he looks great. He said he is a lot more social than most babies at his age and that "He's a charmer"

Sleeping Troubles

Well for the past week or so we have been having problems with getting Jayden to go to sleep. At night he will get so tired yet not want to fall asleep unless we are holding him. We have been trying to let him cry it out but that has been so hard on both Derrick and I. I would start crying and Derrick would eventually get up with him and rock him a bit and finally he would lay down with out crying. Once he actually does fall asleep he does great and sleeps 7-9 hours. So last night after reading much on the internet and talking to some friends and family. We tried setting a routine feeding him, reading to him and saying prayers and then laying him down when he is just barely falling asleep. Then we went in intervals to comfort him. First five min, seven, and finally ten. I think that was much better for the little man and for us. He finally went down around 8:45-9:00ish and then slept till almost 6. I am confident that we will be able to get him to the point where he can fall alseep on his own.
