Look Who's 2

Jayden just had his second birthday I can hardly believe it has been two years since we had him. He has certainly been a source of joy in our home and we are so happy to have him as a part of our family.
One of Jayden's favorite things to do right now is to play with chalk outside so when he asked on his birthday if we could play I said yes and we had a good time playing.

Later that day Derrick came home early from work and we took Jayden to a children's garden they have here in town. He loved playing with the water.

They had these little watering cans you could fill up and water the plants with. That was by far his favorite part although he watered more of the sidewalk than the plants

Inside the Dr Seuss House they have at the garden. He kept saying he was nervous to go inside the house.

Jayden loves basketballs so we got him a small one for his birthday.

And we got him a Doodle pad. Which he just loves and will play with for a long time.

He is clapping his hands for his presents.

I usually just stick with box cakes but I thought I would try my hand at making some cakes from scratch. The cake is three layers two chocolate and one yellow cake with raspberry filling and chocolate frosting. I had some cake batter left over so I made a small yellow cake on top for the basketball and then covered that with orange frosting and then I used pretzel sticks to make the sides look like a hoop. I think it turned out cute although the cake was a little dry. I think it might have been from our high altitude. But I had fun making it.

Jayden is blowing out the candles.

He's loving his cake. When I asked Jayden what day it was he said "Your birthday, want cake" In fact he had been asking for cake for his birthday for months now. All he said he wanted for his birthday was cake and a balloon which we still need to go out and get.

I was surprised he didn't get too dirty while eating his cake. Look at that full belly. He also got to have Sloppy Jayden Joe's and french fries for dinner that night.

The next day we left for a short trip to Utah. Jayden had a blast playing with his cousins and one of his favorite things to do was to play with the piano. This picture cracks me up . He is such a ham.

Jayden just loved playing with his Uncle Craig. He would ask for him in the mornings and would frequently throughout the day ask where he was. He loved being pushed around in the wheel barrow.

He wanted to help shuck some corn too. Although in the time it took him to do one the other guys had done at least five each.

We also had a birthday celebration for Jayden in Utah. He loved having everyone sing to him and said "Sing again" after we finnished.

In Honor of Jayden's Birthday I thought I would list some of his favorite things.

He loves books and loves to read.

He loves letters and loves to watch the Letter Factory movie

He loves music and loves to sing. He is facinated by instruments and will ask to play anyone that he sees.

He loves to play outside and loves to swing at the park

He loves to help out and loves to be given little assignments throughout the day

He loves his daddy and loves to play with him.

He loves to give kisses and hugs and will ask for them frequently during the day

He loves to talk and loves to have conversations about his day.
He has a great imagination and loves to play
He loves to help say prayers and learn about Heavenly Father and Jesus
We are so happy that Jayden is a part of our family and we are so greatful for the joy and love he brings into our lives everyday.
